FAQ's

Product Design

  • What kind of surface materials could be used into wall panel?

Basically no limitation. Different materials in various thicknesses could put into a wall panel in the same surface level.

  • What is the advantage of wall mounted mirror?

    1. Reduce the possibility of rusting

PUDA wall panel is constructed by PU foam which is the material in low water absorption. Beside, each mirror has an extra rusting treatment on the back before mounting into wall panel.

    2. Safer

If mirror broken, the glass shards won’t drop to make user get injured easily.

  • How to stop the water overflow from bathroom wall?

As below sketch, wall panels are installed in the floor base, the joint line between floor base & wall panel are silicon sealed to prevent water overflowing. The edge of floor base higher than wall panel is another design to reach the same function.

  • Is there any size limitation of a bathroom?

By PUDA innovative manufacturing technology, we could design the floor base into several pieces to join together to make it into a completed bathroom floor. Therefore, no size limitation of bathroom, however, this is only suitable for flat pack installation at site.

  • Can PUDA prefab bathroom meet fire retardant requirement for interior building materials?

Puda’s tiled wall panel & floor base meet the Australia building standard and ASTM E84 Class A & E648 Class I requirement.

Construction Interface

  • Is it necessary to depress concrete slab for a barrier free threshold if using PUDA prefab bathroom?

If there is no drainage slope on the floor, no need to depress slab. The min. thickness of Puda’s floor base could be within 30mm.
If there is a drainage slope on the floor base, to depress slab is essential.

  • How the pipes from the bathroom pod connect with the pipes of building?

The length of fresh pipes or waste pipes of bathroom pod usually will be extended outside the pod about 100 - 150mm. The pod supplier could discuss with architect for the details at designing stage.

Installation

  • How many flat pack units can be installed by a team ( 2 - 3 workers ) per day?

The installation sequence of flat pack system at site for a project is totally different from the pod system.

    Day 1

3 - 4 skilled men to move & install floor pan in each floor.
1 - 1.5 hours per floor pan ( according to the complexity of the floor base & weight ).

    Day 2

2 - 3 skilled men to install wall panel & Fresh pipes, 1-1.5 hours per unit.
( according to the complexity of design )

    Day 3

2 - 3 skilled men to install ceiling, 30 mins per unit.
1 - 2 skilled men to install door frame, 30mins per unit.

    Day 4

after 1 - 2 workers to install sanitary wares, fittings and door leaf.
( suggest to finish the installation one or two months ago before project opening day )

System

  • What is the main difference of the bathroom structure between PUDA bathroom pod and other bathroom pod system?

PUDA design the bathroom structure into panelized components, floor base / wall panel / ceiling. Each component has outstanding features.

    Floor base

    1. Better quality of the flatness of floor surface than traditional floor tiling work.
    2. Better waterproof function than traditional waterproof membrane treatment.

    Wall

    1. A flat wall surface level which combine various decoration materials in different thickness.
    2. Better strength & soundproof than gypsum board based wall.
    3. The speed of repairing work of decoration materials is faster than other system.
    4. Tiling quality is better than traditional tiling work done by hand.

  • What is the difference between a flat pack and pod system?
  • Why flat pack system is popular in Asia?

There are several factors to make flat pack system become popular in Asia.

    1. Lower transportation fee.
    2. Less restriction of building design.
    3. Less barrier for domestic transportation.
    4. Flexible installation timing.
    5. Shorter preparation time of design & manufacturing.

Remodeling

  • How to remove the old bathroom pod if want to refurbish the building?

Considering future remodeling, we had developed 100% internal assembly method to make the refurbisment easier and faster . Following are the process how to remove a old pod.

    1. Demolish the exterior wall on the bathroom door side to remove the floor base.
    2. Remove the silicon sealant on the joint between ceiling, wall and floor base.
    3. Remove all sanitary wares & fittings, disconnect the fresh pipes and electrical cable, etc. .
    4. Disassemble the ceiling inside the bathroom.
    5. Disassemble wall panels inside the bathroom.
    6. Demolish the floor base and remove it.
    7. Install new pod.
